There have been different types of database technologies leveraging different types of data models (or sometime multiple model types). With the advent of NoSQL the database technologies and model types have exploded. In this session we will review the different types of database technologies and models (relational, graph, document, key value pair, time series, etc.), common application use types, and architectural tradeoffs that are inherent when determining which database technology to use (e.g., performance, data quality constraints, skillsets).
