8:30 – 12:00 Noon: Enterprise Data Management Success: Strategic Alignment, Modelling & Human Factors

SESSION SUMMARY

While organizations are committed to data governance, they struggle to achieve the desired results. Focus on data alone, without the required context, creates substandard results. This is often due to misalignment with business strategy, and the lack of a balanced enterprise architecture discipline.

This session describes a model driven business-outcome-focused approach, driven by strategically aligned business capabilities. This allows organizations to focus on what’s most important, concentrating on a balance of critical data and business processes that drive those capabilities. This then serves as a solid foundation to expand efforts to other areas, using a continuous improvement approach. We also explore the importance of human factors, which is critical to ensure buy-in and success.
